Man faces several charges after Toronto bike cop hurt in alleged hit-and-run

TORONTO – A man has been charged with impaired driving in an alleged hit-and-run involving a Toronto police officer.

Police say the officer was patrolling on a bicycle Saturday night when he was hit by a vehicle (at Finch Avenue and Highway 400) in the north end of the city.

The officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries to his arms.

The suspect is also charged with dangerous driving and failure to remain at the scene of an accident.
