Weather forecast for the Asia-Pacific region

Rain and thunderstorms will diminish across most of Japan on Sunday as a low pressure system moves eastward and into the North Pacific Ocean, but some showers will persist across northern areas of the country. Tokyo will see cloudy skies with diminishing showers and highs in the mid-20s C.

Meanwhile, a cold front will extend southwestward from this system and stretch over the East China Sea, into southern China. This system will kick up scattered thunderstorms from Taiwan, across southern China, and into Indochina. North of this system, another low pressure system will strengthen as it spins over eastern Mongolia and far northern China. This system also will push a cold front through northern China and into the Korean peninsula, triggering widespread showers and thunderstorms. Beijing will be just south of this system under higher pressure with sunny skies and highs in the upper 20s C.
