CALGARY- Calgary police have charged six people in connection with a violent home invasion early Thursday morning.
At about 3:40 a.m. on Thursday, two men broke into a home in the 100 block of Citadel Peak Circle N.W. and tied up two male residents – one of whom was confined to a wheelchair.
The intruders took several items from the home and fled.
About an hour later the occupants managed to free themselves and call police.
The disabled man was assaulted during the home invasion and was taken to hospital in stable condition.
Police said they believe the home was targeted because of a small medicinal marijuana grow operation inside. The occupants are not known to police and have no apparent ties to organized crime.
