EDMONTON – Edmonton Griesbach MP Kerry Diotte apologized Tuesday after a picture he posted on Twitter generated a lot of criticism on social media.
The tweet by the Conservative MP, which was posted Monday afternoon, reads: “Update. Play along during QP today. Thanks @KellyMcCauleyMP for this HOC version of Liberal Bingo. #cdnpoli #yeg”
McCauley is also a Conservative MP who represents Edmonton West.
The picture then shows a Bingo-like card titled “Liberal Buzz Word Bingo” with words such as “Syrians”, “Indigenous”, “consulting” and “First Nations”.
Many people responded to Diotte’s tweet with comments such as “Really? Indigenous is a “buzz word”? Disgusting. #racism #colonization”, “Wish you were working hard to represent #Griesbach instead! What have you done for us lately? #embarrassing” and “Very professional. This kind of attitude is why CPC is out of power, and will be for a long time.”
