LAS VEGAS – A still grieving Celine Dion honoured her late husband Rene Angelil Tuesday night when she returned to the stage in Las Vegas.
Angelil died Jan. 14 after a battle with throat cancer at the age of 73.
The first few minutes of Dion’s show at Caesars Palace were devoted to Angelil, starting with a video tribute to his life, which was also available via a live stream on the superstar’s Facebook page.

After the tribute, Dion appeared on stage to thunderous applause before performing the Barbra Streisand song “With One More Look at You / Watch Closely Now.”
Clad in a long black dress, Dion was visibly moved and could not hold back tears when she told the crowd her late husband accompanies her on stage every night and that he would always be with her.
The “love tribute” tribute that preceded the performance will be repeated before each of Dion’s shows in Las Vegas over the next three weeks. The Quebec singer plans to perform in Belgium and France this summer before staging several performances in Montreal and Quebec City.
