CALGARY – Calgary police said Monday surveillance video shows an unidentified number of underage suspects vandalizing Wilma Hansen School on the weekend.
Police were called to the school at about 9:30 a.m. Saturday after graffiti targeting Syrians and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was discovered.
More than 30 windows were also broken, but the graffiti was quickly painted over.
It’s the second time hate-filled graffiti has appeared at the school that called for violence against Syrians and Prime Minister Trudeau, and police said they are considering it a hate crime.
Police are also reviewing the surveillance video to identify any adults who may also be responsible.
In the meantime, they have stepped up patrols in the area.
The Calgary Police Hate Crimes Unit and the prime minister’s security detail are investigating.
