MONTREAL – A disappointed Montreal Canadiens fan is selling his tickets to an upcoming game at the Bell Centre and is even offering a few “accessories” to entice any buyers.
Philippe Meilleur said he was disappointed by the Habs’ intense decline in the last few months.

“When they won nine games in a row at the beginning of the season, I was telling everyone that we were heading for the Stanley Cup and that I already had my seat on Sainte-Catherine Street for the parade,” he told Global News.
“I almost felt betrayed when they started losing.”
He decided to post an ad on Kijiji, searching for someone who’ll buy his tickets.

“Are you embarrassed to be a Canadiens fan right now, but still want to help them through a loss at the Bell Centre? Well, this offer is for you,” the ad starts.
“If you buy this pair of tickets (Zone Coors Light, section 309, row C) to the game against the Florida Panthers on March 15, I’ll give you two brown paper bags so you can hide your face.”

Meilleur said he wasn’t able to go to the game anyway, and had the idea to turn it into something funny while watching a game at home.
“I told my girlfriend that I was ashamed of the team and that I should go to the Bell Centre with a paper bag on my head to symbolize my sadness,” he said.
Meilleur has bought 10 regular season tickets with his friend for the last seven or eight years, and they’ve been on the waiting list for half-season tickets for just as long.

He said he’s already been to see his team play at least 40 to 50 times.
“I am indeed a huge fan of the Habs. I was a fan, I am a fan, and I will be a fan forever,” Meilleur said.
“They’re my team whether they are winning or losing, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t criticize or laugh at them.”
The ad, which was posted Friday morning, is already getting some eyeballs — 62 people had viewed it by midday, but so far, no takers.
As for Meilleur, he’s just hoping the team will pull up its socks in time for next season.
“I am absolutely sure that this season is a blunder, an honest mistake, and that we have a great team,” he said.
“I think we will be part of the elite of the NHL in two or three years, and will win a Stanley Cup before 2020.”
