Conrad, who had terminal lung cancer, had been living in Grand Prairie, Alta.
The GoFundMe page set up on Jan. 16 was used to raise thousands of dollars to grant Conrad his final wish, to be flown home to die in the presence of his loved ones.
Conrad had to be flown back to Nova Scotia via air ambulance, which came at a high cost.
As of Feb. 4, when Conrad arrived in his home province, more than $52,000 had been raised, far exceeding the original goal of $47,000.
