A Florida teen has been charged with practicing medicine without a license and theft after he allegedly performed an exam on an undercover agent and took almost US$3,500 from an 86-year-old woman seeking treatment for stomach pain.
Malachi Love-Robinson is also accused of stealing three cheques from her that he cashed for almost US$2,800.
Authorities in Florida said Love-Robinson had all the trappings of a medical practice — an office, a lab coat and stethoscope.
What he didn’t have, authorities say, was a medical license.

The Palm Beach Narcotics Task Force teamed up with the Florida Department of Health to investigate a complaint of an individual “practicing medicine without a license”, according to a release from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation revealed that the teen had opened a medical office in West Palm Beach, police said.

Love-Robinson was released on US$21,000 bail on Wednesday, one day after his arrest.
Love-Robinson said on Wednesday that his attorneys are working to resolve the charges and that he hopes the community will pray for him.
Love-Robinson told West Palm Beach TV Station WPBF on Tuesday that he is not portraying himself as a Medical Doctor (MD).

This is not the first time Love-Robinson has been investigated by the Florida Department of Health; he was investigated and cited for practicing medicine without a license in October 2015.
The teen also has a page on Healthgrades.com in which he claims to be 25. He lists his specialties as naturopathy, psychology and mental health.
A quote from the young “doctor” reads, “I am a well rounded proffessional (sic) that treats, and cares for patients, using a system of practice that bases treatment of physiological functions and abnormal conditions on natural laws governing the human body.”
