Original story

KELOWNA, B.C. – A man is in serious condition after a fight outside the Cactus Club restaurant on Harvey Avenue at Banks Road Wednesday night, according to RCMP.

“The Cactus (Club) manager was trying to revive him as a server was on the phone with 911,” said Damjan Majar, who was eating dinner inside the restaurant when the incident happened around 9 p.m.

Majar said it took RCMP and paramedics a long time to arrive, with the unresponsive young man lying on the rocks in the restaurant’s landscaping for about 20 minutes. He said the manager performed CPR the entire time.

The man may only have been punched once, according to the witness, who said there was no blood nearby.

Police said the man fell to the ground and immediately went into medical distress after being punched. Paramedics were able to revive him and took him by ambulance to Kelowna General Hospital, said an RCMP officer at the scene.
