A family of six is acknowledging how dangerous their actions were after they had to be rescued at the Sun Peaks Ski Resort.
Kamloops Search and Rescue says the family deliberately went out of bounds while skiing and became stranded. The group had ducked under a rope and went out of bounds because the father thought it was a shortcut back to the lodge. He was then able to call for help on his cell phone when they got stuck.
The children in the family range from six years old to 13 years old.
The group had been waiting to be rescued since 3 p.m. on Monday and were walked out to safety a few hours later.
