The Toronto Blue Jays have reportedly signed third baseman and reigning American League MVP Josh Donaldson to a two-year contract worth $29 million on Monday.

According to Sportsnet.ca, the 30-year-old also avoids arbitration.

Donaldson reacted to the news with a tweet late Monday evening.

Donaldson batted .297 with 41 home runs and 123 runs batted in last season.

The Jays acquired the third baseman from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for Brett Lawrie in 2014.
