Investigators say four men were travelling together on two snowmobiles when one of the machines broke through the ice near Victoria Harbour.

They say the operator of the second snowmobile – Brent David Fisher, 48, of Innisfil – died after he got off his machine to help, but also went through the ice.

The other three made it safely back to shore.

Police say they’ve charged 50-year-old Ross Guy, also of Innisfil, with impaired driving. He’s scheduled to appear in court Feb. 18.
