East Asia will enjoy relatively calm weather Wednesday. A small storm will begin the day over Honshu before moving slowly northeastward, delivering light to moderate morning rain along the east coast of Japan’s main island. Some showers also are possible for Hokkaido, but the rain will will diminish as the storm moves out into Pacific.
No tropical development is expected to affect land in the western Pacific Ocean, though typical areas of tropical moisture will produce scattered showers and thunderstorms through the Philippines and Indonesia. Meanwhile, a messy weather pattern is expected for the eastern Bay of Bengal as widespread showers and thunderstorms move inland through Bangladesh and Myanmar. The intensity of these thunderstorms could lead to some flooding.

Tokyo and Shanghai will see high temperatures in the mid-20s C, while Seoul will rise into the upper 20s C.
For Australia, a large high pressure system will begin the day over the eastern Great Australian Bight coast before moving eastward over New South Wales. This high will expand westward through Shark Bay, providing dry conditions for most of the country. In the Gulf of Carpentaria, however, tropical moisture will produce widespread showers and thunderstorms into Queensland. Sydney will rise into the upper teens C, while Melbourne will see temperatures in the mid-teens C. Brisbane will rise into the lower 20s C.
