An Alberta resident is in a desperate fight to save one of High River’s remaining landmarks at risk of being demolished.
The century-old water tower wasn’t touched by the flood waters, and many say that’s all the more reason to save it from the wrecking ball.
The cost estimate to repair and maintain it sits at roughly $2.5 million, whereas tearing it down is estimated to cost $350,000.
A petition circulating online is hoping to get enough signatures to convince council to get the repair cost re-assessed.
