Regina woman faces numerous fraud charges

REGINA – A 25-year-old Regina woman is facing a string of charges related to fraud and the unauthorized use of credit card data back in November 2015.

Regina Police began investigating a series of frauds, possession of stolen property and unauthorized use of credit card data cases last November.

The Commercial Crimes Unit, which led the investigation, arrested and charged Allyson Kristina Bachiu on Dec. 15, 2015.

Bachiu was originally charged with three charges of unauthorized use of credit card data. She first appeared in court on Dec. 16, 2015.

Further investigation into the fraud incidents in November led to more charges against Bachiu.

On Jan. 29, the Commercial Crimes Unit charged Bachiu with 40 additional charges. These include 19 charges of fraud under $5,000, 19 charges of unauthorized use of credit card data and two charges of possession of stolen property under $5,000.

There is also an allegation of breach of a conditional sentence order. Bachiu’s first court appearance for the new charges is on Feb. 3.
