WINNIPEG – The warmer than usual streak of winter weather could make this year’s polar plunge easier for Manitobans.
The annual event kicks off at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Holiday Inn Polo Park Airport.
This weekend Winnipeggers can expect a high of -1C Saturday. The average high temperature for this time of year is -12C.
Last year, 121 Manitobans took the plunge into cold water and raised more than $39,000 for Special Olympics sports programs.
More than 1,600 athletes in this province represent Manitoba at the Special Olympics.
