Hit and run crash in Saskatoon ends in drug bust

SASKATOON – A hit and run investigation in Saskatoon ended in a drug bust. Police were called out to 3rd Street East and McPherson Drive around 4:50 p.m. CT Tuesday for a two vehicle collision.

One of the vehicles involved, a Chevy Trailblazer, took off before police arrived.

Officers tracked the vehicle down in an alley in the 100-block of 4th Street East.

Police found cocaine, fentanyl, Xanax and around $2,500 in cash on one of the passengers in the vehicle. The 24-year-old man is facing three charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime and two counts of breach of recognizance.

The driver of the Chevy, a 24-year-old man, was arrested for hit and run and driving while disqualified. A second passenger, a 19-year-old man, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Police say no one was injured in the crash.
