Grande Prairie RCMP searching for man who’s been missing for 15 years

EDMONTON – Police in northern Alberta are searching for a man who’s been missing since the beginning of the century.

Raymond Alec Chalifoux was last seen near the former York Hotel in Grande Prairie on Dec. 20, 2000. He was reported missing six days later.

Chalifoux was operating a trap line south of Grande Prairie at the time.

Police said the RCMP General Investigation Section continues to search for the now 80-year-old Chalifoux and asks anyone with information to call Grande Prairie RCMP at 780-830-5701.

Those with information can also contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.

Chalifoux was wearing a long brown jacket, a grey fur hat and brown boots.

He had a bad right leg at the time of his disappearance and walked with a noticeable limp.
