WINNIPEG — A victim shot at the Blue Nile Restaurant in the city’s west end is in critical condition.
The shooting happened early Saturday morning just before 3:30 a.m. at 510 Sargent Avenue.
When officers responded to the scene they were unable to find a victim but a short time later they discovered a man with a gunshot wound had been brought to the Health Sciences Centre.
They were able to confirm the victim had been shot at the Sargent Ave. scene.
This is not the first incident of violence at the location. At least four people were stabbed in a Valentine’s Day incident in 2015 and a man was shot on March 27, 2014 as well.
But the owners of the restaurant and lounge believe their business has just been unlucky.
No arrests have been made in this weekend’s shooting and the Winnipeg Police homicide unit is leading the investigation.
