WINNIPEG – A soggy start to the May Long weekend for some Winnipeggers after Friday night’s rain storm left them temporarily homeless.
Residents at an apartment building on Atlantic Avenue were evacuated around 9:30 pm last night after their roof partially collapsed.

Heavy rains then poured into several rooms below.
The three-storey building remains boarded up this morning.
It’s not clear when residents will be able to return.
No one was injured in the collapse.
