Wet weather will diminish across southeastern China on Sunday as a low pressure system pulls eastward and into the East China Sea. This system will spread moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms from Macau to Taiwan, and over the Ryukyu Islands. The leading edge of this system is not expected to reach western Japan as it moves from the East China Sea into the North Pacific Ocean.
High pressure will dominate most areas surrounding the Sea of Japan. Tokyo will remain dry with partly cloudy skies and high temperatures in the low 20s Celsius. Hong Kong will see more scattered showers and thunderstorms with highs near 30 C, while Shanghai will dry up but see a few lingering clouds with highs in the low 20s C.

To the north, high pressure over Mongolia will build over most of China, pushing moisture and clouds away to the south. Beijing will see mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 20s C.
In Australia, high pressure will remain the dominant weather feature across most of the country. This will produce another warm and dry day for most areas. However, the leading edge of this system will create onshore flow for southeastern Australia, kicking up a few scattered coastal showers over southern Victoria and southern New South Wales. Sydney will see a chance of rain showers with highs in the upper teens C.
