DNA evidence has led to sexual assault charges in a violent attack on a Red Deer woman 14 years ago.
The woman was 18 when she was sexually assaulted in a Red Deer park in July 1998.

RCMP obtained DNA evidence at the time, and two years ago found a match.
They later tracked down the suspect to Halifax and brought him back to Red Deer.
36-year-old Lawrence MacPherson is charged with sexual assault, forcible confinement and uttering threats.
