WINNIPEG – The Manitoba government says three men are facing charges of illegal hunting and other offences after a three-year undercover investigation.
Manitoba Conservation alleges the men were hunting moose in an area on the east side of Lake Winnipeg where the moose population is protected.

The department also says the hunters tried to convince aboriginal hunters to say they killed some of the animals themselves under their treaty rights.
Facing charges are Wesley John Bell and John Howard Wood — both of Manigotagan — and John Curtis Thomas of St. Clements.
