WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Goldeyes signed two left-handed pitchers on Tuesday.

The Fish announced they’ve re-signed starting pitcher Kyle Anderson and they’ve inked fellow lefty Chris Anderson. The two are not related.

Kyle Anderson, 25, was 5-6 with the Goldeyes last season with a 4.77 ERA in 18 starts. He first joined the Goldeyes in 2014 before he had his contract purchased by the Arizona Diamondbacks organization.

“Kyle has been a consistent contributor to our starting rotation over the last two seasons,” Goldeyes’ manager Rick Forney said in a media release. “I’m very excited that he chose to pitch this season, and look forward to him building on the success that he enjoyed over the second half of last year.”

Chris Anderson, 22, split time between the Sioux Falls Canaries and the Las Vegas Train Robbers of the Pecos League. Overall he had a 1-1 record and totaled 23 strikeouts over just 19.2 innings.

“Chris Anderson was a young left-hander I saw at the tail end of last year,” said Forney. “I like the way he threw the baseball against us, and felt he was worthy of a good look in preparation for the 2016 season. Chris had a very successful collegiate career, and I’m hopeful that he can recapture that mojo with us.”

The Goldeyes have also lost the services of pitcher Jailen Peguero who signed a contract with Veracruz of the Mexican League. He was 5-4 with 16 saves and a 3.76 ERA in 49 relief appearances with the Goldeyes last season.
