5 evacuated from home after fire in Calgary’s northeast

WATCH ABOVE: A fire in northeast Calgary has forced a family out of their home. The house was full of people when the fire broke out Wednesday morning. As Tracy Nagai reports, despite firefighters’ best efforts the house may be a write off.


CALGARY – Five people, including one child, were evacuated from a home after a fire in the city’s northeast Wednesday morning.

Calgary Fire Department spokesperson Carol Henke said everyone made it out of the Martindale home safely.

Henke said there was significant smoke damage to the home, and the family will not be returning “any time soon.”
