CALGARY – Five people, including one child, were evacuated from a home after a fire in the city’s northeast Wednesday morning.

Calgary Fire Department spokesperson Carol Henke said everyone made it out of the Martindale home safely.

Henke said there was significant smoke damage to the home, and the family will not be returning “any time soon.”
