New computer software to help case workers in Saskatchewan

A new computer software system to keep track of children in the care of social services is now up and running in Saskatchewan.

“Linkin” replaces the old paper-based system that was in place.

The new system is designed to give workers accurate information that is accessible to case workers in order for them to make better decisions regarding risk levels for children in care.

As well, it will give those case workers enhanced abilities to plan and locate family resources for children.

“This new system provides front-line workers with better access to information so they can spend more time working directly with at-risk children and families,” said Social Services Minister June Draude.

The government also says the new system will improve the collection of statistics for decision-making and policy direction.
