REGINA – Class is not session today at Campus Regina School after a small early morning fire.
Regina’s Fire Marshal Randy Ryba said the investigation points to a floor polisher as the source of the blaze. It was plugged in and being recharged while a staff member was in a different part of the building. At about 6:45 a.m. , Ryba said the charging system caught fire.

The fire was contained to the machine, but the ceiling tiles above it did suffer some smoke damage. They’ll have to be replaced.
Classes were cancelled at Campus Regina School (formerly Cochrane High School) to give school staff time to ventilate the building, which filled with smoke as a result of the fire.
Ryba said crews should have the building safe for students to return tomorrow.
