Championship Vernon Vipers team headed to the B.C. Hockey Hall of Fame

Almost 17 years after they won a national title, the 1998-1999 Vernon Vipers are being inducted into the B.C. Hockey Hall of Fame. In the championship game at the RBC Cup that year they beat Charlottetown 9-3. “There was a group of kids that really knew what they wanted to do. They set out with that goal in mind and they fought all the way through to do it.”

Wray says news of the planned hall of fame induction has spread on social media.

“I’ve heard from a number [of the players] that have gotten back to me on social media saying they are really proud of the accomplishment of the team and it’s a great honour,” says Wray.
