Your 2016 Metropasses are now a collector’s item

Once assembled together, all 12 2016 Metropasses will form a unique image of Toronto, the TTC promises.

TORONTO – You’ve probably never thought of your Metropass as an exciting collectible, but the TTC is hoping to change your mind this year.

The TTC is gradually transitioning towards PRESTO fare cards, meaning 2016 is the last full year in which Metropasses are being sold in their current form.

To mark the move, the TTC is making the 2016 Metropasses a “collector’s series,” each with a unique design that’s part of a mysterious whole.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

The current January pass shows a partial image of the skating rink at Nathan Phillips Square, and has drawn some positive Twitter feedback.

The clue for next month’s image would appear to be the corner of a street sign over near the top right corner of the card. The mystery continues!
