Highway 97C east of Merritt reopens

KELOWNA — Highway 97C near Merritt has reopened after a multiple hour closure due to a vehicle incident.

Motorists confirm there are heavy traffic delays in the section of highway about eight kilometres east of Merritt.

The B.C. Provincial Health Services Authority says two vehicles were involved in the crash. There are seven patients in total, all are in critical condition and are being transported to hospital.

An air ambulance responded to the scene along with five ground units and RCMP.
