18 SaskTel co-workers share in million-dollar Lotto Max prize

SASKATOON – A group of co-workers from Saskatoon have a million reasons to smile this holiday season. The 18 SaskTel employees are cashing in on a million dollar prize in the Dec. 11 Lotto Max draw.

Gerald Friesen said they discovered the win a few days after the draw when several of them were having coffee.

“The first ticket I checked was the big winner,” recalled Friesen. “I couldn’t believe it.”

“I waved over to one of my colleagues and said ‘get over here, am I seeing what I’m seeing?’”

The group matched one of the 13 sets of maxmillions numbers made in the draw with their quick pick ticket.

Each of them will receive just over $55,000.

The winners said they’ve started to make individual plans for their winnings, including pay off bills, donating to charity and planning vacations.

The next Lotto Max draw on Dec. 25 has a grand prize of $60-million along with 35 maxmillions prizes.
