Skaters hit the ice soon after the rink open at 11 a.m.

Among them was Carlos Diaz from Chile, who strapped on the blades for the first time, “The snow is not typical in my country so this is my first time with snow in the city but it looks pretty fun.”

The on-land skating trails have not been opened yet while preparations for the river trial won’t begin until the new year.
