WINNIPEG — Family and friends of Cody Joss gathered for a vigil exactly one year after the 21-year-old was killed in an unsolved hit and crash.
Joss died as he was walking home on December 19, 2014 at the corner of Inkster Blvd and McGregor St.

The driver or vehicle has never been identified but Cody’s father Kevin is hoping a tip from the public may still point police in the right direction, “We’re really wanting the public to come forward to help bring some sort of closure to the family,” he said.
Two days after the collision, police issued a news release indicating the suspect vehicle could have been a dark-coloured pick-up truck and that another vehicle may have been near the crash and its driver might have important information.
They released that information again in May of this year but received no helpful tips from the public.
Neverthless, Joss believes there will be a resolution in the case, “I can’t see how someone could live with themselves and never talk about it. Somebody’s heard something and we’re just asking because all tips are important.”
Joss was struck by a vehicle heading westbound on Inkster as he crossed the intersection. He was walking northbound on McGregor when it happened.
The family is holding a vigil at the intersection on Saturday evening at 6:30 P.M. to try and remind the public they are still looking for the person responsible for Cody’s death.
