Winnipeg theatres packed for Star Wars opening night

WINNIPEG — Whether you’re a Jedi or a Sith Lord, the wait is over.

One of the biggest movie releases in years, Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens tonight in Winnipeg.

Theatres at Silver City Polo Park Cinemas, Towne Cinema 8 in the Exchange District, Silver City St.Vital, Famous Players Kildonan Place, Landmark Cinemas in Grant Park, Cineplex Odeon McGillivray all have showings starting Thursday evening.

However, many showtimes have been booked up weeks in advance of today’s opening.
