TORONTO – An arrest warrant has been issued for a 35-year-old Mississauga man after he allegedly fled from a RIDE officer and collided with another car in Whitby last weekend.
Durham Regional Police said the accused was driving in the area of Consumer Drive and Thickson Road South on Dec. 6 when he sped away from an officer who attempted to stop him during a RIDE check.
It is alleged the vehicle, described as a 2002 silver four-door Acura, then crash into another car before driving away.
The woman in the vehicle was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the Acura has been identified as Yusuf Ramadan Abdullah and faces charges of flight from police causing bodily harm, dangerous operation causing bodily harm and fail to remain.
He is described as a male black, 6’ tall, 175 lbs., with black hair, brown eyes and a beard, but no moustache. He has violent tendencies and should not be approached. He has ties to Mississauga, Toronto and the Belleville area.
