The 2-alarm blaze broke out on the second floor at Danforth Collegiate and Technical Institute (near Greenwood Avenue and Danforth Avenue) around 10 a.m., just as second-period classes were getting underway.

Investigators believe the fire started in a storage room of a drama class. Police are opening a criminal investigation.

No students were injured but one firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation, though his injuries were not serious.

Meanwhile, the school remains closed and students are being asked to attend classes in different locations depending on their grade level.
