HALIFAX – Two hikers in their 50’s were rescued Tuesday night after getting lost along the Crowbar Lake Trail in Porters Lake, Nova Scotia.
RCMP say the pair, who are from Dartmouth, called police from their cell phone around 4:30 p.m. asking for help after getting turned around on the rugged trail that runs between Porters Lake and Lake Echo.
RCMP officers, a Police Service Dog and members of Halifax Regional Search and Rescue were called to the trail to assist in the search. The couple was located six hours later, about 10 kilometers in the woods.
Other than being cold, the 53-year-old man and the 51-year-old woman were reportedly in good health.
