WATCH: St. Paul’s Crusaders pad lead for top spot in high school hockey

WINNIPEG – The St. Paul’s Crusaders won an early season first place showdown. The first place Crusaders defeated the second place Lord Selkirk Royals 4-2 to create some breathing room atop the Winnipeg High School Hockey League’s division one standings.

Adam Stefanyshyn led the way for the Crusaders as he figured in on all four of the Crusaders goals. He finished the game with a hat trick while also adding one assist. Stefanyshyn scored his third and final goal into the empty net to seal the win for St. Paul’s. Brandon Marques scored the only other goal for the Crusaders.

The Crusaders number one team hasn’t lost in regulation time yet this season with 12 wins and one overtime defeat. With three points for a regulation win in high school hockey the Crusaders are now four points ahead of Selkirk with the holiday break right around the corner.
