Crash west of Edmonton leaves one dead, one injured

EDMONTON – A man was killed in a two-vehicle collision near Edmonton Sunday night.

The crash happened at 9 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 60 and Township Road 531A , near Atcheson.

A Ford SUV heading north on Highway 60 struck a westbound Chevy Cavalier.

The driver of the Cavalier, a 22-year-old man, died in hospital of his injuries. The 18-year-old driver of the Ford SUV sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Road conditions and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash. Stony Plain RCMP are investigating.
