Winnipeg Police and parents warning of public “flasher” near school

WINNIPEG — Parents and police are sounding the alarm after a man committed an indecent act near Lord Wolseley School in the city’s northwest.

Chantel Marriner’s nine-year-old daughter was walking with another child to school just after 9 a.m. on Friday.

A man approached and spoke to them briefly. He then exposed himself to the children. Police say no contact was made and the children were not physically harmed.

A letter by River East Transcona School Division was sent out to parents explaining the incident.

Jason Michalyshen, of Winnipeg Police Service called it a “concerning incident” and added that there is a potential of “it being done once, it could’ve been done previous time or even in the future.

The suspect is identified as male, between late 20’s to early 30’s in age, with light brown hair and thin build.
