WATCH: People with disabilities learn how to surf in El Salvador

A non-profit organization in El Salvador is teaching surfing to people with disabilities and encouraging them to push their own limits.

Volunteer instructors gathered at El Zonte beach on Saturday to help participants join in, regardless of their physical limitations.

Instructors carried people on surfboards and pushed them out onto the ocean, helping them catch waves and glide smoothly back to the beach.

Every summer, for four months, volunteers take to the beach to help others ride the waves, many of them for the first time in their lives.

Rene Bojorquez, who lost his ability to walk seven years ago due to a traffic accident, described his first experience as “pure adrenaline.”

The non-profit organization called “Sin Limites” (Without Limits) seeks to improve the lives of disabled people and educate society about their abilities.
