During the assault, police said a Good Samaritan intervened and was able to stop the assailant before he fled on foot. The victim did not suffer any injuries.
Police described the suspect as a white man aged 30 to 40 years old, standing 5’8″ to 5’10” with brown eyes and a “chubby” build, reddish brown hair and a goatee. He was wearing glasses, a dark-coloured hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans.
Investigators have determined the attack was a hate crime and believe the woman was targeted because she was wearing a hijab.
