EDMONTON – A 41-year-old man is facing drug trafficking charges after an RCMP officer received several unsolicited calls to his personal cell phone from someone looking to buy drugs.
When the man called the first time, the Boyle RCMP officer told him he had the wrong number and hung up.

But when the calls continued, the Mountie asked the caller who he was looking for. The caller said the name of a person of interest in an ongoing drug investigation into street-level drug trafficking.
That information allowed police to get a search warrant on an apartment in Athabasca. Inside, RCMP found illegal drugs.
“Police work doesn’t get much easier than this,” Boyle RCMP Sgt. Kevin McGillivray said.
On Friday, 41-year-old Trevor Dennis of Athabasca was charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and possession of cocaine.
