Quebec government announces education plan details

MONTREAL – The Quebec government has announced the details of its plan to invest $80 million annually into the school system.

In a press release, Education Minister François Blais said the money will be used to offer additional services for younger children.

Part of the plan aims to increase resources to help preschool and elementary students who have trouble reading and writing.

Blais also wants to set up special programs to help high school students with math, science and French and create more resources to help sway older students from dropping out.

The release stated Blais hopes to hire 600 more teachers across the province.
