EDMONTON — Maskwacis RCMP are investigating after a woman was found dead on the Samson Cree Nation town site Saturday.
RCMP were called to a house at around 10 a.m. They said a woman was found inside the home with “obvious signs of trauma.”

The woman’s death, which RCMP believe is criminal in nature, is under investigation by the Maskwacis RCMP, General Investigation Section and K Division Major Crimes North.
The cause of the woman’s death is not known. An autopsy has not yet been scheduled.
RCMP said the public is not at risk.
Maskwacis is located about 95 kilometres south of Edmonton.
