Free clinic reminds parents to readjust car seats for winter season.

MONTREAL – The CHU Sainte-Justine’s trauma unit is hosting a free car seat clinic in the hospital parking lot on Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine Saturday.

Every year in Quebec over 1,100 children under the age of 10 are killed or injured in car accidents.

According to the hospital, the proper use of car seats can reduce the risk of death in an accident by up to 70 per cent, yet 50 per cent of car seats aren’t properly installed.

With winter fast approaching and snowsuits being pulled out of wardrobes, car seats need to be readjusted to accommodate the extra layers.

The clinic started at 8:00 a.m at runs until 4:00 p.m.
