TORONTO – A female pedestrian is dead after being struck by a fuel truck in north Toronto early Friday morning.
Toronto paramedics said the victim was found deceased at the intersection of Bathurst Street and Eglinton Avenue West just before 6 a.m. ET.
Traffic Services said the driver of the truck continued on until a witness flagged down the vehicle.
Const. Hugh Smith said the driver didn’t know he had hit the pedestrian but remained at the scene to speak to police.
The intersection will stay closed for the investigation and is expected to reopen around 10 a.m. ET.
There’s no word yet on the identity of the victim.
