SASKATOON – Fruitcake has been around for ages. The dense, sometimes alcohol soaked, fruit and nut loaf was historically used to preserve fruit, and has made its way into some households as a holiday tradition.

However, with so many other options for holiday treats, do people still opt for fruitcake?
