Penticton senior struck by SUV

PENTICTON, B.C. – RCMP say an elderly woman is recovering in hospital after being struck by an SUV on Skaha Lake Road Monday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded to the call around 4:50 p.m. near the Log Cabin Motel.

It’s not known how the vehicle came to strike the pedestrian.

Witnesses say the victim was seen under the front of a Hummer. Firefighters helped move her to a stretcher for paramedics to attend to her before taking her to Penticton Regional Hospital.

Corp. Brian Evans says the senior was not seriously injured.

RCMP continue to investigate.
